EEDT in Our Schools

The company creates curriculum according to the needs of each school and offers classes in technique, choreography, improvisation, and community dance making. Performances are interactive and age-specific.

EEDT and Our Local Dance Community
Even Exchange provides educational opportunities for other North Carolina dance artists.
Even Exchange holds improvisation workshops where professional dancers participate, challenge one another, and discover choreographic ideas. By inviting experts from different fields to contribute, the company creates opportunities for unique exchanges among people of different backgrounds as well as professional artistic development.
In 2009, EEDT led Fault Lines Improvisation Workshops. Dancers, dance educators, and musicians explored themes of geological fault lines and interpersonal faultlines and how we overcome them (conflict resolution) as inspiration for movement and choreography. A lecture by Geologist Danny Pearson and dicussions of mediation theory contributed to the artistic exploration.
Even Exchange's community performance, In Our Own Backyard, and First Friday series, Dance Seen, offers Triangle dance artists and companies opportunities to show work and receive feedback.
Even Exchange also gives young dancers a professional modern dance company to aspire to and possibly to join years later.
